Green Mowers, an E-Z-GO distributor with head office in Burgos, northern Spain, has delivered a fleet of 30 RXV golf cars to Club Jarama R.A.C.E., situated close to the famous motor racing circuit 28 Km north of Madrid. E-Z-GO is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company. The 18-hole par 72 course was designed by Javier Arana and was formally opened in 1967. The course meanders through a wooded area of evergreen oaks and there are several pines tress strategically located along the fairways and on approaches to greens plus the additional hazard of 59 bunkers. Other facilities include a driving range, putting green, pitching green and restaurant. Carlos de Linares Saez has been the Assistant Director at the club since early 2007 and comments, “To improve traffic around the course we encourage the use of golf cars and when our previous contract with Mox was coming to an end we looked at alternatives. The electric RXV golf car was demonstrated by Green Mowers and it quickly became evident that this was the car for us. I particularly like the regenerative braking that puts energy back into the battery and the way the car automatically applies the brakes, when it stops. This means that golfers can get out of the car on an incline without actually putting on the brake. When the car takes off again, there’s no rollback either. All in all, a good package.” |
